As a great opportunity, I was asked to help in the conceptual design of the hostel in The Hague. The Golden Stork (named after the bird on the city coat of arms) is the newest hostel of The Hague. There are five rooms, a bar and a terrace on a beautiful canal. Even better, the hostel is located on the Bierkade, right in the center of The Hague.

I had a challenging task, to make a design for the bar-reception area with an almost absent budget. The aspects I chose to analyze included the client’s desires, the location and function of the premises, budget framework, concept and potential compatibility of hostel name with space.
