Project: 100 Years of Bauhaus
The curriculum at the Royal Academy of Art (KABK) in The Hague is in many aspects inspired by the Bauhaus. In the run-up to the exhibition The Netherlands < > Bauhaus - Pioneers of a New World at the Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen, was a task to create an interactive, stand-alone installation and a parade in line with the subtitle of the exhibition 'pioneers of a new world'.
We drew inspiration from the 'Vorkurs' and the 'Bauhausfeesten'. The pop-up installation consists of various elements, through which the public will be invited to discover the design principles of the Bauhaus and the exhibition nederland ⇄ bauhaus - pioniers van een nieuwe wereld.
Parts of the installation were engaged in choreography, forming a performance parading through the streets and resembling the Bauhaus Drachenfesten. The pop-up installation was presented at various locations in Rotterdam, including the Centrale Bibliotheek (13-25 March) and the Grafisch Lyceum (26 March-25 April) in 2019.
